Yes! We offer eGift Cards, which can be purchased through our Gift Card page.

Once payment has been received, you will receive an email containing a unique gift card code to use at checkout.

Our gift cards are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Where are you located? Can I visit the studio?

We have a small home studio located in Cambridge, Waikato, New Zealand.

Due to the nature of working with resin, we are unable to open our studio to the public.

However, local customers are welcome to drop off their inclusions or collect their completed keepsake by appointment.

What happens to any leftover inclusion?

If there is any of your inclusion remaining after your keepsake has been made, we will return it to you along with your completed keepsake.

How do I send my inclusion to you?

Please follow our Inclusion Instructions for information on how to safely prepare and send your inclusion to us.

We accept inclusions from anywhere in New Zealand. 

Please note: We are currently unable to accept international orders.

Can I drop my inclusion off locally?

Absolutely!

If you're local to Cambridge, Waikato, you're welcome to arrange a time to drop your inclusion off with us.

You can also arrange to collect your completed keepsake from us once it is finished.

Please contact us first to arrange a suitable time.

What happens with my inclusions?

We take great care with every inclusion entrusted to us.

Everything is carefully labelled and kept together throughout the entire process so we can ensure your precious inclusions are looked after from start to finish.

Your keepsake is completely customisable. We have a wide range of colours, flecks, foils and shimmer options available.

What are your rings and pendants made from?

We have carefully chosen high-quality materials for our rings and pendants.

Working with Anthony at The Goldsmith Gallery in Hamilton, we have designed three beautiful rings, a unisex/men's ring and a pendant that we are incredibly proud of.

Our jewellery is available in sterling silver and 9ct gold, including yellow, rose and white gold options.

Each ring is made to order in your chosen size and shape.

Do your beads fit Pandora-style bracelets?

Yes! Our beads are designed to fit Pandora-style bracelets and have a sterling silver core.

What are your terms and conditions?

By purchasing a keepsake from DNA Keepsakes, you agree to our Terms & Conditions.

Please choose your colours, inclusions and other customisation options carefully. As each piece is individually handmade and personalised, we cannot offer refunds or replacements simply because you change your mind.

Your inclusions may not sit exactly where you imagined them. Resin allows inclusions such as hair, ashes and cord to naturally move or settle while the piece is being made, so we cannot guarantee their exact placement.

Every piece is unique. No two handmade keepsakes will ever be exactly the same, and while we can use our existing pieces as inspiration, we cannot guarantee an identical result.

Small imperfections such as tiny bubbles or pinholes can occasionally occur in handmade resin pieces.

If you receive your keepsake and are unhappy with it, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order. If there is a manufacturing fault, the piece will need to be returned to us within 14 days for assessment and, where appropriate, remaking.

We are not responsible for inclusions that are lost in transit. Please ensure all inclusions are sent using a tracked courier service and are packaged securely. Your completed keepsake will also be returned to you via tracked courier.

We are not responsible for damage or leakage to inclusions caused by incorrect packaging, or lost packages during transit.

All sales are final and refunds are not provided.

What are your prices?

How long will my keepsake take?

Our current crafting time is approximately 6–8 weeks, from when we recieve your inclusion.

Rings and pendants may take slightly longer as they are dependent on our jeweller's turnaround time.

During particularly busy periods, there may be an additional wait. We always do our best to have your keepsake completed and back with you as soon as possible.

Can I use fresh/frozen placenta or umbilical cord?

Yes! We only require a small portion of your placenta or umbilical cord. 

The placenta needs to be processed into a powder, and the cord will be hygenically dried before it can be incorporated into your keepsake. We can complete this process for $50, with the cost of your jewellery or keepsake added separately.

Do you offer early pregnancy loss keepsakes?

Yes. We feel incredibly honoured to create keepsakes for families experiencing early pregnancy loss, under 12 weeks gestation. 

To create a keepsake, the tissue needs to be carefully dehydrated and processed into a powder suitable for use in resin.

We waive our usual $50 processing fee for early pregnancy loss keepsakes.

If your tissue has been preserved in formalin, unfortunately we are unable to work with it as it is hazardous to us. However, cremation of the tissue may be an alternative option. For a loss between 12 ans 20 weeks, we can offer cremation. Please contact us if you would like to discuss your options.

Can you make keepsakes from embryo straws?

Yes! We are very honoured to offer this special service for IVF families.

We work with a local funeral home to arrange for your embryo straw to be cremated. The resulting cremation ash can then be incorporated into a special keepsake.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss the process before sending your straw to us.

Can you use an old umbilical cord stump?

Absolutely!

In fact, the older the better. We can create keepsakes using umbilical cord stumps regardless of how long ago your baby was born.

Will my inclusion be exactly where I want it?

We will always do our best to achieve your desired look, however we cannot guarantee the exact placement of inclusions.

Resin allows inclusions such as hair, ashes and cord to naturally move and settle during the curing process.

This is one of the beautiful things about handmade keepsakes — your piece will be completely unique to you.

Will hair/pet fur look the same in my finished piece?

Not necessarily.

Hair and pet fur are naturally different in colour, texture and thickness, and your chosen resin colour can affect how visible they are in the finished piece.

Lighter colours can make hair and fur more difficult to see. And sometimes can look translucent. 

When choosing your colour, keep in mind that hair and fur can appear similar to how they look when wet once they are incorporated into resin.

We will always do our best to achieve the look you have chosen, but we cannot guarantee 100% visibility of hair or fur.

Why does my resin piece have tiny bubbles or pinholes?

Tiny bubbles or pinholes can occasionally occur when working with resin.

While we always do our best to minimise them, resin is a handmade process and these tiny imperfections can sometimes occur.

We choose to embrace these little details as part of what makes your keepsake completely unique and handmade.

If we have enough of your precious inclusion available to remake the piece, we absolutely will where appropriate.

Please remember that your keepsake is handcrafted, not machine made, so no two pieces will ever be identical.

How do i care for my keepsake?

Your piece is a genetically laced, unique piece of jewellery. All DNA, breastmilk and keepsake inclusions are primarily resin-based.

Resin is a beautiful medium that requires specific care to help maintain the appearance and integrity of your keepsake. Please remember that your keepsake is handcrafted, not machine-made, and each piece is completely unique.

We recommend removing all DNA & breastmilk jewellery before bed, bathing, showering, swimming, water-based activities and physical activities.

Avoid exposing your piece to harsh chemicals and prolonged periods of sunlight. Perfume, oils, hairspray, essential oils, cleaning products, chlorine, salt water and silver polish can significantly affect the integrity and appearance of the resin component.

A silver or gold cleaning cloth may be used only on the metal aspects of your piece. Please do not use these cloths on the resin component, as they may scratch or damage the surface. The resin can be gently cleaned with a soft, plain cloth.

When your jewellery is not being worn, store it away from natural or direct sunlight, heat sources and moisture. Do not store your keepsake in the bathroom or other areas of high humidity. We recommend storing your piece in a protective, lined jewellery box or tarnish-resistant pouch.

Please be aware that resin can naturally change in appearance over time. Even with proper care, resin may gradually develop a slight amber or yellow tint as it ages, particularly with exposure to light, heat and everyday environmental factors. This is a natural characteristic of resin and is not considered a fault with your keepsake.

Following these care instructions will help minimise the effects of ageing and preserve the appearance of your keepsake for as long as possible. Your piece has been handcrafted to preserve something incredibly meaningful, and with the right care, it can be treasured for many years to come.
